Standby power consumption of electrical appliances form

Is it really necessary to unplug when I am not using them? Does it really save energy and money?

More and more electrical appliances have now standby power mode, which may bring convenience to your life, but also consume energy and increase your own personal electricity bill even when you are not using them. Electrical switches from LCD monitor, Washing machine and Microwave can be unplugged to save power and electricity with no hesitate. According to ITRI test statistics, standby power accounts for about 7.4 percent of household electricity. Disconnecting electrical plugs is proved to be a good way to save energy and your wallet.

However, non-standby power electrical appliances will not consume power even if you don't unplug them. So, next time when you are about to go out for hours or days, be sure to turn off the lights and unplug those appliances to save our earth!
